Arwyn Week 11: Jumping, Jumping, and More Jumping - 9/3/2015

Arwyn gets cuter and more advanced every week!  She scared us a bit this week by not pooping for a whole week.  Luckily the doctor had just told me that it is normal for some babies to only poop once a week, but considering that she had been pooping more than that before and after this incident, it was still disconcerting.  Back to normal now, thank goodness!  She is grabbing onto things VERY hard.  She loves her stand-ups more than anything, huge huge smiles every time, even if she was just crying like crazy beforehand.  She is already grabbing, holding onto, and moving all around the hanging animals in her play mat.  She also already found the spinner on her jumper after about the second or third time playing on it.  She is definitely very aware and interested in her surroundings.  She can also get her hands out on her own when they get stuck inside the jumper seat.

Leia had a special treat this week: being able to play on MorMor's trampoline all week, and with a fun older girl, 8 year old Megan, who played with her and gave her attention.  She had an absolute blast!  She's actually pretty good at jumping on the trampoline, and can keep her balance pretty well even when getting bounced around by others.  It was fun for her to watch all Megan's tricks and attempt to emulate them.  One of the days we were there we had been eating a snack (mostly because breast feeding Mommy was starving), and then Leia and Poppy were sitting on the tramp getting bounced all around by Megan.  Everyone was laughing and giggling, and then all of  a sudden, after so much bouncing, Leia just up and puked all over Poppy!  I guess that's why people always told you to wait 30 minutes after eating before going back to playing when we were all growing up!

Leia's been really happy having the new kids next door around all the time.  She's always very interesting in what Echo is doing especially.  One day it was "Echo wants to come to my house."  So we brought her over, and oh man what a mistake.  Leia wanted to show her every single toy in her room, but would not share any of them!  Luckily Echo is a little sister and used to a bit of abuse (I assume), so the problem was really one sided, but man, we sure do have some work to do before anymore friends come over!

And as for Leia's antics that make us laugh, they were plentiful as usual this week.  One day, in a very matter-of-fact voice, as if to say 'let me just lay out the situation here', Leia announces, "So, I have my jammies on, and I don't want to go to school."  It was pretty funny, and scary for the future because she actually likes school now, so we will be in trouble when she starts not liking it!  Another day we were lying down on the lounge chair on the back deck and she looks up at the sky and says, "Oooo, the sky is beautiful!"  And when Daddy came home with new seat covers on his car seats, she said, "That's fantastic!" It's just so funny when she uses new words and makes observations and descriptions for the first time that are so insightful and seemingly beyond her ability.  But clearly not. She so advanced!

Leia loves all her dolls and her monkey so much, but none of them have ever had names.  Until now.  Now, all of them are named Arwyn, and we have 4 Arwyn's living under one roof!  Quite confusing to say the least.  Now when she says that "Arwyn needs...", we have to clarify, Sister Arwyn, Monkey Arwyn, or Baby Arwyn...so ridiculous!  She also has these three little flower girl dolls, and whenever she talks about them (or says the word girls in general), she pronounces it "Gay-ols".  My gay-ols.  It is so hilarious.

On a side note, I figured out where she got the saying "oh fuss and bother."  It was in the book "The New Adventures of Mr. Toad."

Checking out all the not so cool toys on this jumper...luckily she finds them pretty entertaining!

She won't smile for the camera anymore, but this haircut apparently was fun enough for her to get her to break her rules!
