Leia Week 78: Learning About Christmas - 12/24/2014

Leia is as goofy as ever, and just loving life, as displayed by the following collage of silliness!  We made her a new Leia sized table, and it's her new favorite place to eat.  She pretty much won't sit in her highchair at all anymore.  And she still loves playing with those sunglasses!  She's learning more about snow (or "no" as she refers to it) and all it's fun, work, and challenges…shoveling was cool for about 3 minutes!  And we celebrated another Christmas.  It was definitely a learning experience for everyone.  We thought she'd be more into it this year than last, but really, she had no interest in unwrapping presents, the whole event was pretty overwhelming and exhausting, and in the end she just wanted the new, unwrapped toys, but didn't care how or why they arrived.  Josh and I learned that wrapping things was a mistake, and that Mom and Dad are supposed to assemble everything ahead of time so that you can play with it instantly!  She was so pissed to see the cool pictures on the boxes but not be able to play with any of the stuff.  Oh well, we got it all put together by the end of her morning nap and the rest of the day was soooo much fun!

Leia Week 77: Big Baby Announcement! - 12/17/2014

Leia is quite a character these days.  She's so funny to play with because she has so much fun doing everything!  She's also asserting her independence constantly, which can be difficult, but is also fun to watch her figure out what she needs and wants.  She's slowly working on potty training again, whereby she tells us she needs to poop, and likes to sit on the toilet again (she was deathly afraid of it for a few months there), but mostly she's already pooped in her diaper, and it's more just a routine.  But this is better than nothing since she's still being a total jerk about diaper changes!

In other very exciting news, it was my birthday (not exciting and I felt like crap most of the day), and we used the event as an excuse to announce that we are having another baby!  Leia's little SISTER is due June 23rd (3 days before Leia's birthday).  My pregnancy sickness has been worse than the first time, which was so bad I didn't think it was possible to be worse, but alas, it has been.  Nausea and puking morning, noon, and evening.  Exhausted and crappy.  And the level of nausea has been sooo intense, worse than a 10.  Last time it was a 10.  Last time it also lasted the entire pregnancy.  This time, since it's been different and worse, I'm still holding out that maybe it will go away, but we'll see.  Right now I am 13 weeks along.

Working on a little potty training…she loves to sit and stand and sit and stand.

Whoa, Mom, did you hear that loud wind and see those trees move?!

Checking out the cabinets that she knows are off limits…look at that sly little face.

Singing and play-dough making with Dad.

Josh's masterpiece, momentarily protected from baby-zilla!
