Lange Siblings Lay It Down At Kirkwood

John and I headed down to Kirkwood this weekend to compete in the Subaru North American Freeskiing Championships. Although conditions were not ideal, in fact they were pretty much just crappy, we managed to put down some good runs and kick ass. After Day 1 of the finals, John and I were both in 3rd place. And, in the end, John walked away with 3rd place and I walked with 4th. Not bad for the Lange duo!

And Skier's Right of The Cirque, the venue for day 2.

4th place didn't get a trophy, but I did get a 22 of Corona and some cold hard cash...can't beat that!

The Kraines Family Does Squaw

Ben Kraines, a good friend of Eric Rygg and Josh, who I met at Eric and Brittany's Wedding Extravaganza, came with his family to Squaw for a little ski vacation. I met up with them for 2 days and gave them the full mountain tour. We were so lucky to have perfect weather and the most amazing snow. And thanks to my flawless mountain tour, they all had a blast and will be back next year for sure! Thanks again to the Kraines family for giving me a fun couple of days as well.

Ben (far left) is normally famous for torturing his brothers with long ski days in harsh conditions, but Dan and Mike are all smiles today!

Dan, Mike, and Katharine going back for another on Headwall.

The boys were a little nervous checking out the large cornice on Cornice II...

But they jumped it and then ripped down the 'Hour Glass' anyway!

Dan, Ben, and Mike strike a pose for the "Lake View" shot.

Can't you just feel all the brotherly love here?

Of course, Dan is far from amused at his brothers' antics.

Last run of the day, Ben ate it and had a slide for life down Classic Chute. He was ok, but then had a nice long hike back up to retrieve his ski.

Ben, collapsed from exhaustion after the long hike!

New Camera!

So, after 3 years of being made fun of for having a huge, heavy camera that would throw out my shoulder when I tried to take a picture, I finally upgraded to the 21st century with a nice new little mini camera! Yeah, no more thrown out shoulders for this girl!!

Notice the old brick-like camera almost pulling me off my seat.

And now the new little one that I can hold up with 3 fingers, wahoo!

A Little Winter Break

After 2 months of being apart, I headed out to Waitfield, VT to visit Josh again. We had a nice long visit of 9 days this time, and it was awesome. Did a little skiing at Sugarbush, did a little hiking, and read lots of books. It was a very relaxing week. Also, Josh dove right into his goal of getting me more educated in the realm of movies...we watched lots of movies! I am making great progress. We also got an invitation to join my cousin Jessica, her husband Mark, and daughter Savannah for a fabulous dinner up in Burlington. Thanks everyone for a great trip!

Jessica and Mark.

Savannah, when she was still a little nervous and shy around us.

Ok, really shy!
Now she's warming up a little, showing us her cool stool from Aunt Jean.

And finally, the rockstar with her daddy.

Don't think I've seen Jessica in 5 years or something rediculous. Looking great!

Kat and Josh together again...life is good.

Out for a little snow hike in Waitsfield.

Josh even agreed to break a little sweat out there with me on his day off! Wahoo!

What's up tough guy?
