Leia Week 30: Partying With Her Friends - 1/22/14

Leia is a pretty happy baby, but especially so if it's time to party! She loves playing with other new people...just when you thought she was a little tired, introduce some new fun people and she gets her second wind. We had a really fun dinner with the Leunigs and Shirleys, and Leia had so much fun playing with everyone! We also got her a new tub that's a little more her size, allowing us to save water and allowing her to sit up and play a bit more.

One look at that face and you know someone likes bath time!

Sitting up like a big girl in her new tub.

All curled up and cute as a button!

More warm sunny days in January means more fun driving on the deck!

Give her a little wide open space and she's a full on speed racer!

"Wow, look how far I just went Mom!"

Another cute new outfit from Gram Gram!

Leia always loves a good play session with her Auntie Megan!

"Holy smokes, looks at all these fun big kid toys!"

Practicing her waves with Vikki.

Hey, who's this hairy guy?

Oh happy day for Katharine...she found her first toy truck and she loves it!

Aww, snuggles with Uncle Jesse!

Getting so good at those high fives!

Love those happy facial expressions!

She loves those big kid cups!!

I guess your shaver is broken, shall I yank that hair out for you?

Eating is soo fun!

I can't stop laughing when I see these pictures...every bite just made her so high on life!

Leia Week 29: Sickie and Shots - 1/15/14

Leia had her 6 month old well baby checkup and shots this week. So far she loves going to the doctor! She was happy and smiling in all the waiting rooms, laughing and waiving at all the other patients. Then she had a blast playing with the table cover paper and showing off for the doctor.  Finally, she didn't even scream until they went in for the second set of shots, and then was laughing and smiling at the nurse 30 seconds later!! Talk about a tough little cookie she is! She did a bunch more crawling this week, trying to hone in her skills. And she got sick again...coughing, sneezing, and congestion. Doesn't seem like it will ever clear up, but she seems to function pretty well despite all the symptoms.

So excited to play with such a big piece of really loud, crinkly paper at the doctor's office!

Got her workout suit and sweat band on, getting ready for a big crawl session!

And here she goes...where she stops, nobody knows!

Looking pretty proud of herself and her great form!

It's the middle of January and this big old bear decided to come out and watch a little ski racing!

She absolutely loves feeding herself with this banana pop, but stand back when the nanners pieces start flying!

Aww, Daddy and Baby staying home sick:(

Seriously, this new eating thing couldn't be much more fun!

Might as well take advantage of the nice weather and do a little driving on the deck...much more room to get around!

Getting so good at feeding herself and flipping Mom off at the same time for using a flash!

Time for another little yoga strech session...

Touch your toes and stretch out those hammys!

Beautiful form on the Downward Dog!

And now we show Jody how good we are at standing!

Dancing Baby Leia Movie

We had a few technical difficulties with our GoPro, but after a few weeks of patient determination and the help of some very nice customer service reps at GoPro we were able to recover all our great footage, and the second movie staring Miss Leia is ready to go! This one is Volume 1 of her first 6 months of great "dance moves".  Enjoy:)

Leia Week 28: A Big Week of Firsts! - 1/8/2014

Well, as the title suggests, we had a big weeks of firsts this week.  Leia went the the doctor for her 6 month well baby check up, and got the go-ahead to start on real food!  First up? Bananas!  We also noticed one day out of the blue that her 2 lower front teeth had come in!  She never even cried or drooled more than normal, so we had no idea; they just appeared, it was so crazy!  And finally, after a couple weeks rocking around on her hands and knees, she finally put the moves all together and started crawling across the room.  The big grin on her face made it clear she was so proud of herself, especially with all our cheers and encouragement, and it was so fun to watch.

Preparing for food and checking out her new bomber bib…"You know there's a big gap here, Dad, and  I'll be able to drop all sorts of food right behind it rendering it totally useless, right?"

Ok, change of outfit, now we're ready.  Bring it on!

Not sure if she really likes it, but knows she wants it anyway because this is what big kids do!

Give me more!

Mmmm, yummy.

I'll be in charge of that little spoon, thank you very much.

Still not too sure about this banana stuff...

The sign of a good meal = saving some for later!

Two little teeth!

Trying to get her feet under herself to stand up instead of crawl.

And here we go...

Slowly on the move and very happy about it!

Look who already has her first Squaw pass!

Dancing around in her fancy new snow boots!

Sitting up tall and playing her favorite new ring game.

We love our Baby Big Truck hat, but it just doesn't provide quite as much sun protection as Uncle Jesse's big boy hat!

Helping Mom clean out the hot tub!

Our little Rocky - all dressed for success and going for gold!
