Arwyn Week 5: 1 Month Old! - 7/23/2015

We spent this week recovering from the last two weeks of family and non-stop activity.  We tried to lay pretty low and get Leia back on a regimen and off her high horse after being the center of attention for so long, but is that really possible?  I think she's pretty much always the center of attention by design!

She cracked us up one night this week when, on the walk home from a party, Josh all of a sudden freaked out when he realized he'd left his phone there and would have to go back.  Leia's response? "Oh fuss and bother!"  Where does she get this stuff and how does she always know how to use these phrases appropriately in context?  She's so advanced!  And we've been asking everyone if they said that in front of her, but so far we cannot figure out it's source.  Leia likes to play "catch and throw" this week, although while her throwing is pretty good, catching needs some help.

Leia had 5 days of swim lessons this week, which turned out to be a total disaster.  She had absolutely no interest in participating, and wouldn't do any of the stuff they asked her to do, even though it was stuff she does all the time with me and Josh.  The first day she did some of it, but after that, she wouldn't leave the edge of the pool, even when I convinced the teachers to let me be in the water too. As far as Leia was concerned, the only good part about the whole experience was the fun park next to the pool.

Unbelievably, our little Arwyn turned 1 month old already!  Time flies way too fast when babies are little and you're counting by weeks!  She had to put up with a lot of Leia time since all of Leia's other playmates were gone.  Lot's of love, some of it a little painful, but lots of love!  Her little face is so full of funny expressions, including some more smiles.  She's grabbing a little more, and loves hugs and snuggles.

Nap time!  Aren't they so cute?

Worried about why her beloved Elsa box is empty...her bags and boxes are always full of stuff!

Little goof loves these "headphones"!

Dressing herself...creatively turned these shorts into a cute miniskirt with a tail!

So peaceful.

Arwyn spends way more time swaddled up and sleeping than Leia did because we learned the hard way with Leia that babies don't just fall asleep when they're tired, you actually have to put them to sleep!

Daddy trying desperately to get Leia to use the massage balls on him instead of herself!

Good thing we have a lot of parties this month, more excuses to wear one of the millions of cute party dresses in her closet!

Princess Leia weilding her light saber!

Already she's quite good with her weapon...got Mommy hooked by the sleeve!

1 month old, and getting a little giggly.

Deep in serious thought!

Ah ha, I get it now!

Just relaxing.

Oh, hey guys!

Dance time, let's boogie down.

Who me, cute? Awe shucks!

Flipping off the paparazzi, "enough pictures already Mom!"

She just loves relaxing in the craziest positions in Daddy's arms!

Leia had 3 piggy bank boxes, and how did she know that this was the appropriate one to give/share with Arwyn??

Swim teachers trying to coax her into the water.

Riding on the floating turtle was fun enough to get her in, but just for a little!

There's a smile!

So jealous of the great naps these two take together!

"Daddy, I want to wear your pants!" (And when you're elbow deep in soap suds, not much you can do about it!)

Love it when their little hands get into crazy positions while they sleep!

Grabbing on tight to the Mommy!

"I know Leia gets whatever she wants, but really Mom, now she gets to dress me too?"

Morning cuddles!

Already got their sister bonding thing going...these two will be trouble!

I love you sister!

Ok, enough sister time already!

After the morning's abusive hugs, Arwyn decides to get back at Leia by taking her down in a little arm wrestling match...she may be little but she's got guns!

Ok, now we're even, let's kiss and make up!

Basking in the glow of her recent arm wrestling victory!

One more quick ride on the turtle while asking to get out the whole time.  And that was the last time she got in the water for the rest of the week.

Haven't quite gotten all the milk out of my system, so we have to get creative to get her to feel better and stop crying!

Cheshire cat?

Love!

Leia's constant request: "I want to hold Arwyn!"  "Let me feed her and make her happy first." "She's happy, I want to hold her now!"  Yep, she looks pretty happy with you right now Leia!

Sleeping cutie!

Love that little hand!

Clearly tired, but not from swimming.  It's tough work being a turd!

Not happy about being put in the Monkey Bouncer rather then cuddling in Mom's arms.  Love all these great facial expressions!
