Arwyn Week 3: Transues Meet Arwyn - 7/9/2015

Between the 4th of July holiday and the arrival of her grandparents, Little Miss Party Girl Leia got her fair share of fun this week.  Much to her father's horror, at the Matthews' party, Leia stripped off all her clothes, got up on a table, and started singing "Let It Go!" (theme song from her favorite movie Frozen) at the top of her lungs.  Quite hilarious, but Josh is convinced it may be a little foreshadowing of her future party behavior??  While holding and hugging her sister are her favorite things, Leia is still adjusting to her new role in our expanded family...the tantrums and bad behavior are so hard for all of us.  So we were more than happy to relinquish her care to her grandparents when they arrived.  They of course spoiled her rotten, which helped improve her behavior for a bit, until it back fired and made her greedy, bossy turd!  Oh well, we'll get through this eventually!

When she wasn't too busy having fits, Leia was back to her extremely intelligent, perceptive,  and hilarious self.  One day she announced to us that "I'm going to cause a ruckus!"  We laughed, and had to agree.  Another day Leia and I were down playing in her new playhouse.  She rang the little doorbell which makes the sound "Ding Dong," and I said "Who is it?"  Leia replies "Pussy's in the well."  My jaw dropped because that was the most amazing extrapolation to the nursery rhyme from one of her favorite books, "Ding dong bell, Pussy's in the well.  Who put her in? Little Johnny Flynn..."  Really, who else would come up with that?  She's so advanced!!

Arwyn is still a very happy and pretty easy baby who always seems to be ready to just go with the flow!  She loves sleeping in the car, which makes life easy, and loves sleeping in her MumMum's arms.  When she's not sleeping, she's a very alert little girl.  She's very tolerant of her big sister's needs to hold and play with her, despite the roughness of it all...hey, sometimes love hurts!  The only disappointing thing so far is that, right on cue at 2-3 weeks (just like Leia) she seems to have developed reflux.  Poor thing screams out in pain during and after feedings.  We are starting with the Ranitidine to see if that will solve it, but I have a bad feeling that a dairy-free lifestyle is again in my near future.  And we are getting our first hints of smiles this week. Gas or not, they are still the cutest!  And I'm not kidding, Arwyn is already talking...we were up in my bedroom, and apparently I was ignoring her because all of a sudden she yelled out "Hey!"  Not a squeak or a squeal, she seriously said hey!

Arwyn's karate kicks!

Pondering life.

Modeling her new hat, gloves, and blanket from the talented hands of Great Aunt Joanne!

PopPop only holds her when she's happy...lucky for him, that's quite a bit!

Comfy and relaxed with her Grandma.

I see you with that camera mom!

Celebrating Murica in true hick fashion: shirtless overalls!

Making friends at the park!

Peek-a-boo, I see you!

The lap of Poppy is a pretty nice place to be.

Relaxed sleeping faces are so sweet!

Getting some big air!

This is Daddy's special trick to keep Leia entertained.

This is Leia's special trick to steal Daddy's glasses.

Cousins!

"Come Dad, get in my tent!"...or is it her torture chamber??

And there it is, the first smile!

And another!

And a third, with eyes open, so not a fluke!

I keep saying that Arwyn is so patient with Leia's snuggles, but inside she's not so fond of it, as demonstrated here by her giving Leia the bird!

This is the "before" shot of our front yard...

And here is the "after"!

Josh worked so hard and did such a beautiful job landscaping!

I love having such a great yard, but glad I'm not the one who has to water!

Instead I sit around feeding and staring at this little cutie all day!

Josh and his girls!

Watch out for these rock stars heading to the beach!

Seriously, this little Diva likes to eat with her foot on the table!

Donner Lake was not warm, but PopPop braved it anyway!

MumMum dipped her toes too, but Cooper said "no way, get me out of here!"

Have to sit on the sidelines for a bit, but at least I get to hold this beautiful baby.

And, along with Nana and Poppy, I get the pretty views!

So lucky to live here!

Fun afternoon relaxing and playing at East End Beach of Donner.

Pre-smash!

PopPop loving some quiet baby time!

And now our lucky contestant has chosen to see what awaits her behind Door #1...

Excited anticipation...the smile is getting bigger!

Wow, her very own Jeep from PopPop and Grandma!

Now that's a happy girl!

I don't think the smile could get much bigger!

You can't tell from these great pictures, but she really just loved having her own car, but was not too excited about actually driving it!

Love that smile!

The first of many times when Daddy will get stuck carrying the thing home after she says "I'm done"...unfortunately it's much heavier than her bike!

Chicks and their trucks!

Arwyn's favorite place to sleep this week was in MumMum's arms.

2nd bath with Grandma.

New clothes and new foods...grandparents must be in town!

Our little explorer hitting the jungle!

Thank goodness for Cabela's when you don't live near a zoo!

Hot tubbing with her very own little mermaid!

Our little Elf!

Flashback comparison...I definitely think they look similar!
