Arwyn Week 36: Poor Sick Baby! - 2/25/2016

Poor Arwyn had a fever this week.  It wasn't very high, only about 99.8, but you could tell she really felt miserable all week, even after the fever subsided.  As Poppy likes to say, we didn't see too much tongue this week.  On the sleep front, Arwyn had mostly been sleeping through the night until she got sick, but now it's all over the map again.  And I don't think I properly documented it, but Arwyn figured out how to go from lying to sitting up on her own around Week 33, and has been getting more and more proficient ever since.  New this week, however, was that she actually started sitting up sometimes while in bed!  And the funny story about Arwyn this week was that her teacher Desiree came up to me and said Arwyn makes her think of a little Mother Theresa because she always has her hands clasped in front of her face and she's always so peaceful and calm, and it radiates to those around her.  Obviously I'm not religious, but everything she said it true; Arwyn does have a strong personality, but in contrast to Leia, it's a personality of quiet determination and a she exudes a happy, peaceful but busy presence.  She loves to tinker and explore everything around her, and the discovery process gives her great satisfaction  While she's always up for an adventure, she's also happy right where she is because no matter where that is, the world around her always has so much to offer.

Leia too, has always been drawn to Arwyn's infectious happiness, and she even gets worried when Arwyn has a temporary lapse: "Mom, Arwyn's not smiling. Smile Arwyn, smile!"  And this week, when Arwyn had to stay home from school for a day, Leia was totally traumatized. "No Mommy, Arwyn has to come to school. She can't stay home, I'm going to miss her."  It was so cute!  Leia has continued her streak of sleeping in late and taking long naps. I'm getting more convinced that she must be growing, but she hasn't grown out of any outfits overnight, so who knows?

Little sickie Arwyn, falling asleep in the comfort of her Poppy's arms.

With Leia asleep, Emmett was excited to actually be the "big kid" who got to push his little cousin around in her car.

Running around and laughing like crazy...so fun to emulate your older cousin!

Home sick from school and hanging with Poppy.

Finally feeling a little bit better...ready to show us her tongue and play with her toys again!

So much thick beautiful hair!

Pet monkeys sure are pesky when they like to sleep on your head!

Leia loves reading to her baby sister.

Are these two the cutest or what?

Cutest little bunny!

Whether it's clothes or hats, Leia is all about layers!

The swing is still clear and dry in the middle of February!

Hot, beautiful spring day in the middle of February...great day to be outside!

Just up from her nap and not too sure yet about this little adventure.

Hanging out in Leia's water soaked house and making plans with her friends...

Had to "call" Ben about their ski date this Saturday, and Aunt Jen about her visit next month.

After being told that night skiing was not an option, this happened...
