We hit the slopes again this week after taking last week off to wait out the rain storm. Somehow we successfully steered Leia away from the play structure lures of the lodge, and got her to enjoy the skiing again. And this week we spent a little more time on the flatter stuff working on letting her move herself (walking and skating) and ski without being held (balance, standing up on her own feet). She did fantastic, had so much fun, and was so proud of herself! She had such a huge grin in response to our repeated praises. It was really exciting for all of us. We also introduced Leia to the concept of Trifecta...three different seasonal sports completed all in one day. She went skiing, played at the beach, and hit the Links all in one afternoon...go Leia!
Leia has also starting singing along to some of the songs we sing to her at bedtime, or even starting to sing spontaneously. She can't reproduce any full songs yet, but pretty consistently can sing "up up bove the hmmm so high" (aka, a line from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star). We also finally got Leia to like brushing her teeth! I was always battling her to get it done, and finally the teacher suggested that we do it in front of the mirror and let her try too (Leia's turn and Mommy's turn). Well, she still fights me about Mommy's turn every time, but she loves to go look at herself in the mirror, try to brush her teeth, and turn the water on and off a million times to wet her brush. She also is learning to fill a little cup, take a sip, and spit it out (Josh's prep for future mouthwash use). All in all, she loves the whole process, despite having to endure "Mommy's turn". Oh yes, and the best news of all...we had our first 100% successful poopy on the potty! So far that was the only one, but it was great progress and every little bit helps (hoping to be mostly done with diapers by the time #2 arrives).

Another brilliant masterpiece by my little Picasso!
They are already teaching her to use scissors and glue at school...so impressed!
Walking and skating on skis all by herself!
Already a little speed demon...excellent balance and no fear! We were so impressed that she could go by herself!!
Loves skiing with Coach Daddy!
Sport #2 for the day...throwing rocks and pinecones at the beach!
Sport #3: a little round of golf!
Loves watching herself brush her teeth in the mirror!
Can't get enough of that cute smile!
We finally got her the perfect size chair for her table.
It's all about sweats and flip flops on Daddy Day!
And guess who gets her favorite yogurt twice on Daddy Day?!
