Wedding Bliss on 9/10/11

Since we weren't in the wedding party and didn't have any commitments, we hit the town all day before the wedding. Started off with a great breakfast, then toured the foot-traffic only part of Rockport, and then hit the beach. It was a great day for sure. Followed by a beautiful ceremony and a really fun wedding reception. The food and band were awesome! Thanks to Jennifer and the Transues for making this weekend possible.

Arrgh matey! Check out arrggh pirate boat!

This was the place with all the awesome fresh fish, fish cakes, lobster rolls, etc. Ate here everyday!

A look at Rockport harbor.

Cruisin' the cute foot-traffic only part of town.

Danny and Beth heading to the beach...watch out, baby on board!

Mickey and Worm cat napping in the sun.

Danny was happy to be on a beach and out of the city!

Josh too, was happy to be on the beach, but not happy to be in the picture.

Wedding time...waiting for the beautiful bride to emerge.

Talk about the cutest little ring bearer ever!! He was the happiest kid, never got upset, even when his parents kept him out ring bearing late into the night.

And Jennifer the Bride, looking prettier than ever!

Jen and Benson taking their vows in front of this gorgeous setting.

Such a pretty back drop, with the twin light tower island, we all had to take pictures here!

Isn't he so handsome?

Josh and Danny.

More pretty pictures.

The Transue Family (minus Cody in China).

Josh, Beth, and Elle showing off the beautiful reception hall and great view out the window (unfortunately Elle couldn't really see it from inside Beth's tummy).

We had the best table at the party...right in the middle of the room with all the coolest people there (well, minus the bride and groom that is).

Worm, Mickey, Josh, Katharine, Beth, (and Danny).

Enjoying dinner and getting ready to boogie down.

Brother, Sis, and Kat.

Josh was psyched to sing with the band again and rub up against the lead singer's voluptuous breasts as she whispered the lyrics into his ear!

Rehearsing in Rockport 9/9/11

We had quite a LONG and adventurous drive from Philly up to Rockport, MA, but after seeing Rockport, it was worth it...very cute town! We came to Rockport for the wedding of Jennifer, Josh's sister, so we got to see his parents and brother again too. And I met all the local Hunter friends that Josh and Jen grew up with, so that was great. One of the best parts was right on our arrival, when Bruce and Kelly called up and insisted we go down and meet them at the little sea-side town for fresh lobster...yummy!!

Walking down the ocean-front home where we had the rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony.

Josh, Danny, and Beth enjoying a lovely ocean side dinner under the full moon.

So romantic!

Josh sang "Let's Stay Together" with the band for his sister.

Danny, Worm, and Micaela.

Josh, Jared, Laura, and Danny, Josh's Hunter friends.

And this is what happens when you try 4 times to get these two to smile nicely at the same time... Like father, like son!

Back to Philly to see the Ryggs...where it all began!

A trip back east would not be complete without a stop in Philly to see the Ryggs and remenisce about how it all began...the fateful wedding night when Josh and I met! It was definitely a special trip for us, and it was great to see Brit, Eric, and Evan in their home.

Enjoying a little digestif with Eric out on the patio.

Josh and Eric...probably talking about Evan, cause we just couldn't get enough of that little cutie.

Brittany, Katharine, Eric, and Josh out on the town for a delicious Italian dinner.

Evan relaxing in his mini-me lounger...cutie patutie!

He rocked the crap out of the rocking horse...a couple times we thought it might rock right over!

Heading Home to Transue Land 9/1/11-9/6/11

Josh and I headed back east at the beginning of September. We started in Johnstown, PA to see his grandparents and extended family, then we headed to Hunter, NY to see his parents and the house he grew up in (my first time seeing it!), and then we continued to Philly and then Mass, but more posts on those trips to come later... Anyway, the Transue's place in Hunter was very cool. Got some pictures of the yard to document all the hard work Josh and his brothers have done over the years to comb the woods, picking up sticks and stones, and making the yard pretty enough for Bruce. We also got to go on the Hunter Mountain Zip Line, which was awesome. And other than that it was pretty relaxing because it pretty much rained the whole time!

The woods that were Josh's adventure lands.

Looking back at the house.

They have a very inviting yard with pretty flowers, fountains, and a comfy hammock. Unfortunately it was too wet to really enjoy all it had to offer.

Josh and Bruce, riding up the chair to the top of the zip tour.

Don't we look so cool in our safety helmets!?

One of the views from the top of Hunter Mountain.

Looking down the line of our first zip. There were 6 zips total, but this was the highest and longest!

Bruce comming in hot!

Katharine preparing to zip.

A look back up at how high that first zip really was!

Bruce walking across the wobbly suspension bridge.

Then there was a huge thunderstorm and we had to stop zipping and take cover!

They wouldn't let us zip in the lightning, but they didn't seem to mind that we all took cover under a METAL grate!

The storm passed after about 45 minutes, and then we got to finish the zip tour. Here's a video of Josh and I in tandom.

Cruisin' with Captain Niko 8/14/11

We had one of our famous Three Boat Days with the Leunigs this August. It started in the early morning hours with Sabrina, Jody, Dan and myself water skiing behind the Glassy Lady. Then a quick, fun wake surf session behind Dan's Malibu. Finally onto Over the Top for a picnic cruise with the rest of our families. A good time was had by all, especially the 5 year old Niko, who got to drive the boat all by himself all the way home! It was a little dizzying for the rest of the passengers at first, until he figured out that you need to hold the steering wheel still on a real boat, rather than the classic side to side spinning motion used when pretending to drive something!

Sabrina surfing it up!
