Leia Week 36: First Sledding - 3/5/2014

It was a very busy week for Miss Leia. We had some fun nakey play time where she learned that she could push her diaper box across the room like a walker and get around really well. So innovative she is already, and saving us money on another expensive accessory!  We also got a brand new sled in the mail from Grandpa and Gram Gram, so even though there wasn't too much snow, there was enough to give Leia a fun ride around the yard. She didn't totally love it…yet.  But I think if we get one more good storm this year it will be different story…she is a dare devil in all other things, so she just needs a bit more time to learn the beauty of the sled!  And finally, Leia had her first big workout at the gym! We did a stomach routine, worked on the bosu ball, and lifted some weights…she's so strong!

She absolutely loves standing over the humidifier and having it blow all that cool air in her face!

She squeals with delight as this fun wind in a box blows up her hair and cools her face!

For my first trick, I will step into this suit and my body will magically disappear!

Well, she did crack a little smile, so I guess this sledding thing wasn't SO bad!

It's like PeeWee's Playhouse around here these days with all the toys and cushions all over the floor!

So many fun things for a baby to do in this gym!

Seriously her arms are strong…she was one arm curling this 1lb dumbbell like it was a feather!

Next up, mat workout with the foam roller…Leia is very good at that!

She is so funny when she sleeps…literally fell asleep with her head smashed up against the bars!

Leia Week 35: Look Who's 8 Months Old! - 2/26/14

Leia turned 8 months old this week! Really hard to believe how big she's gotten. She is a total pro at standing, crawling, getting up and down, climbing over and through obstacles in her way, balancing, standing, and sitting in the bath, and she's extremely strong and dexterous when she picks up all sorts of heavy and awkward objects. And she really loves to stand at her activity table and dance to the music. We just love to see her smile and laugh all day long. They have even nicknamed her "Smiley" at school!

Leia Week 34: Leo & Leia - 2/19/2014

Leia had her first little play date this week. Our friends the Saads were in town with their son, who is just 3 months older than Leia. And he's her male name-sake! His name is Leo, pronounced just like Leia, but with an 'o,' "lay-o". So Leia and Leo had a fabulous time playing next to each other;) It was great to see the Saads, and fun to watch the kids. Also this week, we introduced Leia to the joys of GoPro, with her first attempts at collecting some baby POV crawling footage!

As I sort through all our great video footage, I've decided to group everything by themes, in case you hadn't already noticed. This week's theme? Leia's beautiful smile, which she's been sharing with us since she was only a week or two old! I just can't get enough of it;)
